What Is It?
This hand-sanded, twice-lacquered toy chest looks like a truck and can be decorated with paint, decals or anything a kid dreams up. It assembles in minutes, primarily with a slot-and-groove technique that’ll make Santa’s elves sigh in relief. The only screws go in the safety hinge that keeps the top from slamming down on tender fingers. The front of the truck can even be used as a seat by little ones weary from cleaning up their rooms.
What We Thought
The truck really was easy to assemble, even though the wrong set of instructions was included! Within minutes, ToyDirectory had an attractive new way to store all the samples that arrive for review.
Why They’ll Want It

What Is It?
This full-sized sleeping pillow imprinted with Disney’s The Little Mermaid is also a book. Its soft padded cover opens to reveal cloth pages that relate the story of Ariel’s adventures as she struggles to become human and win her Prince.
What We Thought
Marrying a cloth book with a fluffy pillow is a great idea, and it’s surprising that no one came up with it before in this particular form. The pillow is a wonderful way for Little Mermaid fans to relive Ariel’s story and then drift straight to sleep without worrying about putting away a pesky hardcover. The cloth pages are lavishly illustrated in color, with pictures and text on each page. The pillows also come in smaller versions.
Why They’ll Want It
Any Little Mermaid fan will sleep easier with this storybook pillow. It will help fantasy-oriented little girls transition to fashion- and room-décor-conscious tweens.
