Hasbro Off The Hook in Patent Fight with MiTile

Law 360 (subscription) is reporting that a judge ruled on Monday that Hasbro was not guilty of infringing on a patent for an electronic game held by UK company MiTile Ltd.

The original suit was filed after MiTile claimed that Hasbro's games Scrabble Flash, Yahtzee Flash, and Simon Flash all used technology covered by patent 8,057,233, "Manipulable interactive devices," which is held by MiTile. It also claimed that Hasbro knew about the infringement, yet continued to sell the infringeing products anyway.

Hasbro was cleared of all the charges, and the judge "granted Hasbro's counterclaim for a declaratory judgment of noninfringement." A separate Hasbro counterclaim, seeking declaratory judgement of invalidity, was denied.
