Mansuba: Challenge of the Paraohs
Gender: Boys And Girls
Age: 10 and up
Mansuba: Challenge of the Pharaohs is the second board game set in the World of Terris. In it players learn the ancient Fey game of the Imouha Pharaohs. Become the first player to move your pieces across the board, beguiling opponent’s pieces in the process. Speed and daring play will win the game, but beware lest your pieces be beguiled in turn.
Mansuba comes from the Arabic word for arrangement, situation, or position. It is commonly used when describing a Shatranj problem to be overcome, based on the position of individual pieces. In this context, the situation must be "solved" through proper play.
World of Terris
All of Red Juggernaut’s games are set in the world of Terris, a world where everyone can perform enchantments and powerful ritualists shape society. Each Red Juggernaut product contains additional information about this world, created by the Red Juggernaut team and codified by Scott Hungerford and Robin Laws.
The world of Terris is an alternate-Earth filled with dangerous monsters, determined explorers, power-hungry nobles, and rising civilizations set upon the path of expansion and conquest. The setting combines alchemy, ritual sorcery, and the power of the human spirit as means to explore and colonize a largely unknown and mysterious world. Because certain key events occurred differently on Terris, the world is both familiar and alien to Earth all at once. Terris is a place filled with adventure, danger, and thousands of lost adventures just waiting to be unearthed.
Unlike many fantasy settings, all events and developments are derived from natural history. Every creature or society can be explained with a basis of historical accuracy and current scientific theory. Terris is what Earth might have been, had one or two historical events gone differently.
